The Highwayman

We are learning about the poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes.

We have thought about the language used, the feeling and mood of the poem.  Write a letter from Bess to the Highwayman, or from The Highwayman to Bess in the comments.  How do they feel about each other?  What might they say to each other?  What might happen if anyone found their letters?  What are their plans for the future?  What does Bess' father think of their love?

Challenge:  Can you make up your own story poem?

Thank you for coming to see me today. It was such a surprise to look out of the casement and see you riding across the purple moor.

  7. Dear my beloved Bess,
I am so lost on this dark mysterious journey. I'll come to thee by moonlight and I wish to see your wonderful face. thou art I brave young woman and you must be patient as my prize is nowhere to be found. The glowing moon will guide me to your beautiful face and the stars will twinkle like your happy eyes do. I cannot wait for the second we meet again weather it is in the clouds above us or not. My eyes are tired of the dark night. My brain is telling me to keep searching for my prize but my heart says to come back to you, my dear love. my heart is what I shall follow.
    love,
    Allan
